花排成顶生或腋生的总状花序或圆锥花序，无花瓣，花萼钟状或坛状，通常具彩色；雄花的花萼裂片覆瓦状排列，不育雌蕊缺或细小；雌花的子房2-4室。
本族4属；我国栽培1属。
